2 modules

Open a module to see what you will be able to do by the end of it.

E1Pharmaceutical calculations (Part 1)All nine Part 1 calculation types in the 2026 framework, with worked methods, common traps and timed practice.

By the end of this module you can:

  1. Describe the format of Part 1 of the GPhC Common Registration Assessment (CRA): 40 free-entry calculations in 120 minutes (about 3 minutes each), 1 mark each with no penalty for wrong or blank answers, using an approved calculator or the basic on-screen calculator.
  2. Solve each of the nine calculation types in the GPhC CRA framework for sittings in 2026 (concentrations, dilutions, displacement volumes, dose and dosage regimens, infusion rates, medical statistics, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacokinetics and quantities to supply), using the underpinning skills they rely on: rounding, unit conversions, formulae (including kidney function), molecular weight and mmol, and reading a resource.
  3. Set out a calculation in clear steps, keep units with every number, and avoid rounding until the final answer.
  4. Sense-check every answer against a rough estimate and clinical plausibility ("would I give this dose?").
  5. Recognise the classic traps: micrograms and milligrams, salt factors, "1 in x" ratios, displacement, rounding NNT, and "per dose" versus "per day".
  6. Manage time in Part 1 (about 3 minutes per question) and use flagging to return to hard items.
E2Part 2 exam technique and practice questionsHow Part 2 is built, how to answer single best answer and extended matching questions, and a flexible revision plan.

By the end of this module you can:

  1. Describe the structure of Part 2 of the GPhC Common Registration Assessment (CRA): 120 multiple-choice questions in 150 minutes, made up of 90 single best answer (SBA) questions and 30 extended matching questions (EMQs) grouped in sets of 2 to 3.
  2. Use the GPhC CRA framework for sittings in 2026 to plan revision: the 15 clinical therapeutic areas in order of prevalence, the high-risk drug classes, key patient populations, law, governance and regulation, and MHRA and CHM safety advice, knowing there are no fixed numbers of questions per area and the mix can change between sittings.
  3. Apply a repeatable method to SBA and EMQ questions: read the lead-in first, predict, eliminate, choose the safest guideline-based option.
  4. Find information quickly in on-screen resources such as SmPC extracts using the PDF viewer and its search function.
  5. Manage time at about 1 minute per SBA and 2 minutes per EMQ, with flagging and a final review.
  6. Build a realistic 16-week revision plan, using question banks, mocks and error logs, and protect your wellbeing.
  7. Understand the rules on attempts, nullification, appeals and reasonable adjustments.

Each module includes teaching content, worked cases, a 10-question quiz with explanations, a one-page prescribing summary and a short video. Courses support your learning and CPD; they do not confer prescribing rights.
